Diptiranjan Patnaik
Apart from being an author of eight volumes of short stories, and several translations Dipti R. Pattanaik a professor of English at Banaras Hindu University is a prolific writer of essays and literary criticism. He did his research on children’s literature at Ohio State University, USA on a Fulbright Fellowship in 1996-97. He represented India at Cambridge University Young Authors’ seminar in 2000 on a Charles Wallace-British Council Fellowship. Since then he has been contributing scholarly essays to major translation studies journals and anthologies. His contribution to the field of translation studies won him Indo-Shastri Canadian Fellowship in 2009. He also held the prestigious Erikson Scholar in Residence position in 2011. For his creative writing he has won the National Katha Award in 1994, the Jhankar Award in 2005 and the Odisha state Sahitya Akademi Award in 2013, among others.
