Mustafa Stitou (1974) is generally counted as one of the leading Dutch poets of his generation. Born in Tetouan, Morocco, he moved to the Netherlands as an infant and grew up in the provincial city of Lelystad. Stitou now lives in Amsterdam, where he studied philosophy at the University of Amsterdam. He has published four collections of poetry: Mijn Vormen (My Forms, 1994); Mijn Gedichten (My Poems, 1998); Varkensroze Ansichten (Pig-Pink Picture Postcards, 2003), winner of the VSB Poetry Prize; and Tempel (Temple, 2013), winner of the Awater Poetry Prize.
