Anita Agnihotri writes in Bangla. After studying Economics in Presidency College and University of Calcutta , she joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1980.
Anita has authored over fifty books in different genres, including several volumes of poetry, short stories , novels and fiction for young adolescents. She also writes extensively on the reality of development .
Honored with several awards, she received the Crossword Economist Award for her collection of stories Seventeen, translated by Arunava Sinha.
Mahanadi, Mahakantar, Labanakto and Plabon jol are her three recent novels, a series in creative fiction on India’s development reality.
