Soni Sil is born in Cuttack as Santosh Kumar Sil. Later, he changed his name from Santosh to Soni. She has graduated with economics honours. She is working with Housing and Urban Department, Government of Odisha. She is committed to developing the lot of the transgender people so that they can live in the society with dignity. She has taste for literature and she reads and writes when she finds time. Her parents supports her. She is residing in Cuttack with her parents.
